System requirements
Initial remark: Oriantica uses 3D-hardware in your graphics card.
Unfortunately there is today no real standard, and different
manufacturers of hardware build in different functionality in their
cards. Therefore it is almost impossible to theoretically determine
which computers that will run Oriantica.
The only safe way is to try. Download and run the demo
version.
If it works, then everything is fine! The list below is an estimate
of the computer requirements. If you do not know much about
computers, we can say that a standard computer built year 1999 or
later should do.
100% DirectX compatible computer
required. Windows 98, ME, 2000, XP and Vista are supported. Windows 95
may work.
CPU: 300 MHz or faster CPU recommended.
Memory: 32 MB RAM required. 128 MB required
on Windows 2000 and XP, 512 MB on Windows Vista
Graphics Card: 16 MB AGP or PCI 3D Hardware
Accelerator required. 64 MB recommended.
Sound Card: 16-bit sound card required.
CD-ROM: CD-ROM drive is required for the CD
version.
Input Device: Keyboard and mouse required.
DirectX: Microsoft DirectX 8.0 or later must
be installed in order to play Oriantica.
DirectX is an multimedia add-on for Windows, published by
Microsoft. The latest version of DirectX can be downloaded from Microsoft.
If it does not work
First check that you have the "latest" updates of
drivers for you graphics card, motherboard etc. and that you have
the latest version of Oriantica. You can check this using the update
function within the program.
If you still can't start Oriantica , you are very welcome to
write to us. Describe your computer system as carefully as you
can, and explain the problems you have encountered. Send also the
file winol2.log, which is created in the program directory when you
run the program. It includes error codes and other information that
can be of value to us when we try to understand the problem.
