Remote Input and Radio Times from the Internet

Updated: 2026-05-11

Remote input on the page Services let you fetch for example radio punches, readout cards, and new entries from some Internet service. Supply the address, URL, to the web server managing the competition data.

Use Type to set the server type. The options are MeOS Input Protocol (MIP), supporting control punches, card readout and entries, Radio Online Control (ROC) and SportIdent Center (SI).

To allow new entries (MIP only), you need to select Allow entry. Then you can control who may enter: In addition you can control to what classes entries are allowed. The choices are With direct entry and All.

Example code to set up a MIP server, where you can input start number and control number in a web form to register radio times, can be found in MeOS Resources. MIP also supports importing new entries.

Competition ID number is defined by the web server and is used to fetch data for the right competition. For ROC and SI it is possible to use the unit id instead, and for SI you can list the ids of several units.

You only need a Control Mapping if you want to specify that a certain control code is in fact not a control, but represents a certain function. (By default, the control code is interpreted as the corresponding control.) Enter code and select function: You can choose Start, Check, or Finish.
Hint
You can save this service in the competition, to quickly restart it if needed. Use the button Save Settings. Passwords will not be saved in the competition, but locally on the computer that you use. Optionally, you can give the service a Name.
