Show Runners in Forest
On the page Lists there is a list called Competitors in Forest. It shows all competitors that have not yet finished, sorted by class and start time. If no start time is available, a check time is shown instead or entry time (if it is from the same day as the competition). This list is updated automatically when any change occurs. It is possible to filter the list to show only competitors that have been out longer that a certain time. The list also includes punches from unknown cards; if the competitors database is used possible card owner from the database is shown here as well.
The list Controls, also found under Reports, shows the number of visitors per control and how many participants have the control left on the course. When a participant has passed a radio on the course, MeOS assumes that the controls earlier on the course have already been passed (depending on how the courses are laid out, this assumption is more or less reasonable).
If you set the courses so that one (or more) radio controls are passed about halfway by a large proportion of the participants, it can enable early fetching of controls from the initial parts of the courses.
This information is also available in the table on the page Controls.
Edit and Manage Competitors in Forest
Runners in Forest are managed on the page Competitors. Select Competitors in Forest. You will see a list with Runners Without Registration. These runners (or rather their SI-card) have not been encountered at all during the competition. The command Set Status <DNS> for Runners without Registration changes the status for these runners to Did Not Start (DNS).
If all runners has checked their cards or used a start punch, you can readout these units (you can also readout controls and clear units). Then all runners who have punched anywhere will disappear from this list, and are instead moved to the list Runners, Status Unknown, with Registration. These runners remain, with some certainty, in forest.
To read out the punches from a SI unit, use the program SportIdent Config+, provided by SportIdent. Choose to save the readout as a semicolon separated file (csv) and import this file to MeOS by the command Import Punches.
If you accidentally clicked the button Set Status <DNS> for Runners without Registration before all check units (or similar) were read out, too many runners will get status DNS. When you have read out the remaining check units, these runners will show up in the list Runners, Status DNS, with Registration. The button Reset Status <DNS> to <Unknown> for Runners with Registration will reset the statuses for these runners.
